Sasquatch Investigations of the Rockies encourages you to contact us and let us know what you’ve experienced. It doesn’t matter how long ago it happened or how crazy it sounds – we want to hear about it.
Anywhere in the Rocky Mountain corridor is of particular interest to us because we are based right in the big hills of Colorado.
We take every report seriously, and will follow up with you if you wish. If you just want to file a report anonymously, that is fine too.
Some things to include in your Bigfoot sighting report are:
- The location (as exact as possible).
- The date and time of day.
- The weather conditions.
- Your contact information if you want us to follow up, which we prefer.
- Include as many details of the encounter as you can remember accurately.
- If you don’t want us to post your story, please let us know, otherwise we will share it so that others can read it.
Please, no fabricated / hoax reports, you will be wasting your time and ultimately ours. We’re very serious about Sasquatch research, and any data you are kind enough to share will be greatly appreciated.

I wish to report a significant find while hunting the Colorado 2nd season Rifle elk.
I and my best friend have hunted together for over 24 years and we were together hunting second season of the 2024 Elk Rifle dates. We were hunting in the Poncha Pass/ Villa Grive area in the San Luis Valley. We were climbing, on foot, up an access road that was too deep in snow for any kind of a motorized vehicle. As we neared an area where the road had started to travel, horizontally along the contour of the hillside, we came across some tracks that had been partially covered by the previous day of snow. At first glance, it looked like someone had gotten smart like us and were using snowshoes . The tracks were approximately 17-18 inches long but it was hard to give an exact length due to the recent snow. The width was 8-9 inches wide. But, I started to notice how far apart the tracks were and that’s when I told my buddy the stride length was enormous. My buddy is over 6’2” and has the longest stride I’ve seen. He mocked me and said he had that long of a stride, lol. So I told him to try yo step the same stride as the tracks. He was about 1.5 feet short so it puzzled him so he actually tried to leap to the stride and he still couldn’t come within 1 foot. Neither of us had a camera or cell phone because we go hunting to get away from all the modern crap for awhile , lol. We net three other hunters that lived in the town of Salida, one being in a law enforcement career and I nervously told them what we saw, expecting them to have a big chuckle, but they didn’t laugh! They started telling even more stories related to the tracks we saw! It really rattled my brain because I’ve hunted ever since I could keep up with my dad, ( I was 8 years old ), and I’ve never even thought of a creature like that in the area we hunted! I’ve always been on guard for an occasional black bear or a mountain lion but never a creature that could travel with a stride that long!
I should add that both my friend and I are retired federal law enforcement officers.
